Fun at Home & Last Trip to Disney

The girls and I had fun with the mirrors one morning. Oh the fun we have together at home! The best part was sending some pictures to Daddy, who then too a break to video chat with us. We made him laugh! Not the best pictures, but the memory is documented.

Right before a bath I did Ada's hair crazy. She did not like it at all and actually started crying and told me to take it out. Aubrey and I tried to make her feel better, so we did Aubrey's hair silly. Pretty soon Ada had a hard time keeping her pouty face on.

Oh the fun we have with Daddy! I happened upon this picture today.

Penny loves her food. Even just rice cereal mixed with formula. But so far she is not a peas fan. I would have to say her favorite is squash.

Ada is going to play in the snow.

Penny knows how to earn a trip home from church. Luckily we are only a 3 minute walk away.

Growing girl!

Last Saturday Cam had to study, so I took Aubrey and Ada to a bird farm that we found. It was pretty run down, but the girls loved looking at all the birds and feeding corn to the goats.

And we saw these gorgeous flowers!

We had one of our best days at Disneyland last Thursday! We were sure it was going to be our last trip before the summer blockout. But we snuck in a few more hours yesterday because some friends were in town. Ada lucked out and got to meet Doc McStuffins while wearing her Doc shirt!

Sophia the First. I think we can only name a handful of characters we haven't met. I am excited to make the girls a book/collage of all the people they have met.

We went into a new building and Aubrey was in awe when we ran into the library from Beauty & the Beast.

Lighting McQueen in Cars Land

Cameron and I have now ridden almost all the rides. We take turns riding the big people rides while the other one of us takes the girls on a smaller ride. It has been fun to try out them all.

And we finally got to try out the new Cars ride! It is always a 80 minute wait. We were able to get some passes so we didn't have to wait in line, but we had to wait to use them until later in the day. Aubrey loved it.

Yesterday we ran into a good friend of mine from Bigfork. It was fun to see Kelly and her kids. The kids were very shy at first, but it didn't take long before all the girls were holding hands and riding rides together.

Penny loved Small World

And so did Ada!

We finished the day by going and meeting up with some good running friends from Ogden, Amy & Riley Cook and their girls. So fun to catch up and see friends. We have really enjoyed having the Disneyland passes. I think we went 11 or 12 times. We made many wonderful memories as a family.

A Note for Grandma

Aubrey worked so hard on this she wanted to send it to all her Grandmas. So I told her I would take a picture so they all could see it here on the blog.

Ada wanted to make sure I shared her magic spider

Personalities

There have been a few situations in our life recently where our girls personalities shine through. Aubrey and Ada are so different from each other, and Penny doesn't resemble either of them as a baby, so it will be interesting to see how she shines through.

The other day I left all three girls in the toy room. Usually this is fine because Aubrey and Ada take pretty good care of Penny. Ada was in the corner pretending to make some food (in a glass bowl she had taken from the counter), and Aubrey was dancing. Two minutes after leaving Aubrey runs to me in a complete panic, crying and completely losing it saying that Ada dropped a bowl on Penny. I of course sprinted to the toy room to a crying Penny (who had a little red mark on her forehead), and a completely unconcerned Ada who had gone back to mixing her food in the corner. It took me a few minutes to calm Penny down, the whole time trying to calm a very concerned Aubrey as well. Even after she realized that Penny was going to survive, she still was worried for a bit.

So Aubrey is our girl that worries, is very afraid of getting dirty, hurt and bleeding, but has the kindest heart I have ever seen. We were at a party recently and there was a pinata. The host passed out fun party bags to all the kids, but realized she didn't have enough for everyone and ran inside to get a brown paper sack. A girl beside Aubrey realized that she was going to get a brown sack, and went into a meltdown crying and screaming. Aubrey walked over and gave her fun sack away and took the plain brown sack. She hates to see people unhappy and will do what she can to make things better. But ask Aubrey to pick up Ada's fork when she drops it at dinner and you would think it was infested by a disease as Aubrey touches it as little as she can and halfway throws it at a food covered Ada. The returns to her seat and wipes her hands off on her napkin.

Ada on the other hand, is our carefree girl. She can fall and have blood dripping down her leg and not even miss a beat until Aubrey points out that she should be concerned. Ada gives us one heart attack after another as she falls from nearly everywhere she is, even on the ground. She isn't shy at all and will talk to anyone that will listen to her-even complete strangers at church. She loves Cameron's classmates and act like they are her best friends, as Aubrey stands nearby giggling and acting slightly embarrassed by her outspoken sister. Ada runs to her nursery class after sacrament meeting and won't even think about us for the next 2 hours. She is also at a stage where she is very defiant, and she isn't easily scared of her mommy or daddy's discipline. Very frustrating. Cameron said the other night that she is going to be the one that is going to give us a run for our money during the teenage years, and it gives me a heart attack just thinking about it. Aubrey wants to please, Ada knows what she wants and doesn't care what anyone else thinks.

So, it will be exciting to see how Penny shines through among these two girls. So far she is pleasant, smiley, and sleepy little girl who is also somewhat timid. She loves her bottles and food and loves attention from her sisters.

Rice Cereal, Animals, and Disney

Trying on bow ties while we find some new shirts for Daddy.

The girls love the humming bird feeders that we put up. And so do the birds! Look close and you will see one.

Penny has been eating rice cereal and she loves it! You can tell she feels like such a big girl. 5 months old today!

Happy Baby!

Cameron's school had a Kids Day that was sponsored by the San Diego Zoo. We went and were able to see a show with four animals that they brought up, as well as free animal crackers. And the best part was seeing Daddy and all his school friends on their lunch break.

Waiting to see the show.

The huge snake.

Cerval

Owl. This owl weighed 3.5 pounds, but it was huge!

And the grand finale Cheetah.

Yesterday we went to Disneyland again. Don't worry...in just a few weeks our passes won't be good for the summer months, so you will get a break from Disney pictures. We had a great day. We spent a lot of the day with one of Cam's classmates, Kevin, and his family. It was a nice way to celebrate Cameron taking 2 big tests on Wednesday. The picture above is from Space Mountain, which is a roller coaster in the dark. Cam took Aubrey one of the first times we went to the park. We didn't really know what the ride was like and she was tall enough to ride. I was pregnant so I didn't get to ride. Cameron said he felt so bad after the fact. Well, I rode Space Mountain yesterday and I am so glad I didn't know what he was taking my little girl on months ago. I can't believe she survived that ride.

Aubrey loved this Mater ride.

We were able to see both parades- the Pixar Play Parade and Mickey's Musical Parade. Disney knows how to do Parades!

Merida thought all three of these girls were sisters. Aubrey thought she was pretty silly. The girls love Kevin's little girls Riley.

Both our girls loved taking care of Riley. She is about a year younger than Ada. And pretty soon Riley will get to play the big sister role and our girls will have another friend.

Minnie Mouse

No line yesterday for Mickey, Teacups, and Monsters. We were able to go on a lot of rides. I was considering standing in the normal 2 hour wait so the girls could see Anna and Elsa from Frozen, but when we got to the park I went to stand in line only to find out that the wait was 4.5 hours! Can't believe people are willing to stand there that long. My girls have accepted the fact that a wave is good enough.

A couple pictures from the parade

We had heard amazing things about the World of Color light show, but it is always so late at night. Yesterday it was at 8:30 pm, so we got to the park later and stayed late. It was a long day for all of us and we probably won't do it again. Unfortunately we didn't know what we were doing and couldn't find a spot to even see the show. We had to go watch it from behind, and while it was cool, we didn't really get the full effect.

After the show Ada immediately turned to us and said her tummy was tired, crawled into the stroller, and was asleep within minutes. It made the bus trip back to the car a challenge, but she wasn't about to wake up and she slept until 9 the next morning.

Randoms

Our walk home from a baptism last week. We love having the temple so close.

Penny after the baptism.

We went and flew kites on Sunday evening. Perfect kite weather! They went right up into the air. The girls had a blast. Aubrey also wanted to climb a tree.

Flying! At first they felt like they had to run around because I had taken them earlier in the week when there wasn't much wind.

Penny loved watching.

Ada flying her kite.

And our cute Penny girl!

We had a fun afternoon at the pool today. We love our friends! We had more that weren't in this picture. It was almost 100 degrees today. Luckily it cools back down into the 70s next week. And its always a fun pool trip if Daddy can come!
