Running!

The girls had three cross country meets this season. We love watching them run and seeing their enjoyment racing. They make a huge deal at the third meet- the All City Meet. Both girls qualified to run and they got to ride a bus to a golf course about 25 minutes away.

Ada being tough coming into the finish line. Her second race she ran about 20 seconds faster than the first race. Amazing!

Aubrey got third at the second meet, about the same time as before. She runs tough and is very competitive.

Waiting for their turn to race at the All City Meet

They both did so good! The course had to be short because all the times were crazy fast. Ada placed about 15th I would say.

And Aubrey came in 6th.

Nice job girls!

I was able to sneak out one morning while Cameron watched the girls to run the Spokane Marathon 10k. In order to start up front in Bloomsday, you have to run a qualifying time. So I had to run a 10k under 47:00 in one of their qualifying races. I felt strong and had a great race and placed second overall for the females in 43:15. I was really happy with it considering I am still struggling a bit with my foot injury and have been cross training a lot. So planning on Bloomsday in the Spring!

October Randoms

Always need a spot for all the cute pictures we just doing our everyday things.

Aubrey and Ada both have library day at school on Mondays. They NEVER come home with just normal novels or picture books you read. The titles they usually come home with sound more like "101 Fun Crafts to do at Home" or "Marvelous Masks" or "40 Delicious Brownie Recipes". They are always so excited about them. So, occasionally I have to let the mess happen. And try to be patient as they learn to cook. So here are the masks that they made one afternoon.

And this leaf pile was a hit. Especially with Paige. She would literally swim in them.

She wasn't too happy when I picked them all up.

I told the kids we were just taking a rest as we drove Ada to soccer practice. About 2 minutes before this picture Emmett said, "But Lesley I'm not tired"

Paige loves watching the washing machine. And is officially potty trained!

Aubrey's triple layer brownies from her library book

Potty trained and big girl bed! Paige is also obsessed with babies or anyone who is smaller than her. She loves seeing pictures of cousins Oakley and Lou, and loves visiting Lewis.

Taking my 'baby' on a run with her babies.

Cousin Lewis is getting big!

Paige loves him

We switched to a new kids dentist. They did all 4 kids at the same time. Which was amazing! And Paige did much better than I ever imagined she would. Unfortunately Penny has a cavity. A first for our family. Need to be better flossers!

Aubrey got a soap making kit from Grandma Harvey for her birthday and the girls loved making soap one morning they had off from school.

Statue at the river by the soccer fields.

Playdough!

Boots.

Lewis is so sweet. If you smile at him he gives you a big grin. He can't help it!

Ada's soccer party.

Bedtime!

October Montana Trip

We were able to take a late fall trip to Montana. We headed to Bigfork mid October, and wanted to hit Glacier Park when the crowds were small. Unfortunately we drove all the way up there and all the roads were closed. We were able to see Lake McDonald but that was it. The next week everything was open! Just unfortunate timing. But we still had a great time and beautiful weather for the weekend.

Taking a little break from the car and deciding what to do next.

We decided to head to Hungry Horse Dam and then into Clayton Lake. I didn't remember how far the drive to Clayton Lake was. But, we made it to the trailhead and were all ready for a break from the car. We headed up the trail and saw snow in spots which entertained the girls as we hiked.

Cuties

The fun bridge log crossing

Almost to the lake!

We made it!

The rock in the lake that was fought over....

Such fun memories we are making. I remember coming here as a kid too.

Family shot!

And headed back

Ada wanted a picture by this cool tree on the hike down.

We stopped and looked at the Dam on the way out and then went to dinner at The Back Room.

The magician was there! He was so fun and probably spent at least 10 minutes at our table doing all kinds of cool tricks. The girls loved it!

We also spent a day at the cabin. We built fires, roasted hot dogs, boated out to the island, and just played, played, played.

Such a gorgeous weekend!

Aubrey especially liked the fire. We spent hours putting sticks and cracklers in.

On Saturday we got a slow start, but then headed up to Mt. Aenaes with Mom and Dad. Its always so fun to have them along. And the girls love hiking with them and they just chat and chat away. Mt. Aenaes seemed short this time. The girls were great hikers. We then hiked down to the Picnic Lakes for a picnic. Some snow and ice on the trail made it a little tricky in spots, but we made it and had a fun picnic lunch at the lakes.

Little break

Paige was a good sport. Took a nap on the way up, and then was pretty pleasant on the way back.

Mom and Dad brought some Mountain House meals, so we ate lasagna, sweet & sour chicken, chicken & mashed potatoes, and pasta primavera. Always tastes good when hiking!

It was a great weekend and a perfect getaway. Just what we needed!
