Princess Festival

Cameron won us a ticket to the Princess Festival at Thanksgiving Point (I entered the contest from the TV station, and entered Cam's email to get an extra entry, so since his email won he gets the credit).  The ticket was good for an adult and child. Ada was free and it was $5 to add an adult, so it was a fun Friday afternoon activity. We walked in and the girls got glitter put in their hair and received books so they could get autographs from all the princesses. Ariel was the first one we saw.

Chatting with Ariel.

Aubrey and Cinderella

The girls were able to walk around and talk to all the princesses and get them to sign their books. We then went on a few Quests with the princesses to solve problems. Our girls had a hard time keeping up, but once the crowds got smaller Aubrey really enjoyed it.

Meeting some of the dancing princesses.

Snow White

 Sleeping Beauty

We lost Ada for a second and looked over and she had climbed the jungle gym.

They had a lot of these pictures that you put your head through and Aubrey love it.

Rapunzel

Aubrey kept telling everyone that her favorite princess was Belle. We finally found her. Aubrey was cute and asked if she could sit in her lap.

Loving Belle!

Whenever Aubrey sees cotton candy she can't get it out of her mind. We were all too busy snacking to look at the camera.

Yum!

Guess we should have brought swimsuits! The girls had a blast playing in Ariel's pond. They got soaked but it was fun to watch them run around.

Overall we had fun. The girls were slightly young for everything that was going on, and the drive to and from got long, but we had a good day! The girls got Happy Meals and Cameron and I stopped at our favorite Hawaiian restaurant in Bountiful for a great meal. Yum!

South Ogden Days 5K

We have made it a tradition to run the South Ogden Days 5K each year, and this year was Aubrey's second year. We signed her up last year but she got scared at the start and only made 200 meters or so before turning around to finish. This year she was a pro! She ran a lot, and walked a little, and overall had a blast!

Getting ready to start!

Grandma and Grandpa Harvey and Kate & Jordan came to watch. We always appreciate not having to push the stroller. Grandpa and Ada came to watch the start of the race, and ended up running it too!

Taking a break about halfway through.

Aubrey kept her friend Joshua (in red) going. They raced each other a bit. Joshua was actually pretty competitive. Aubrey will miss Joshua when we move.

Finishing strong!

Yeah! The course is almost a mile!

Aubrey was very excited to get a jump rope at the finish. She has been wanting one for a while.

And here comes Ada!

Big sister helping Ada finish!

We did it!

Cameron and I ran the 5K afterwards. It was a perfect evening and so fun to be surrounded by so many friends. The girls loved staying up until almost 10pm. They were so wired by the time we made it home! Hopefully we will be back someday to continue the tradition.

Beehive Cabin Trip

Monday evening the girls and I headed up to Morgan to have a sleepover with the 12-13 year old girls from church at one of the leader's cabins. The girls had a blast. There was a trampoline, fish to feed, girls to play with them constantly, and more sugar and candy and chips than you can imagine. So glad the girls didn't get sick!

Of course the girls loved the trampoline!

I let the girls stay up until just before 9, but they didn't actually fall asleep til about 10 pm. We tried to have them share a bed and Ada was constantly punching Aubrey in the face so that I would come in the room. I finally moved Aubrey to the floor in a sleeping bag and she was asleep in minutes. I then got to relax and enjoy the campfire and smores with all the girls.

There was a pond full of trout at the cabin. They were huge! We fed them fish food pellets and they went crazy. The girls loved it.

You can see a few trout in this picture. They were huge!

Rope swinging! It was the perfect time to be in Morgan. Everything was so green and it felt like we were in Montana and not Utah.

Serious rope swinging.

Ada loved throwing rocks into the river behind the cabin.

Dionne made sure the girls had plenty of treats in the 24 hours we were at the cabin. Strawberries with whipped cream and cinnamon sugar toast for breakfast.

Happy camper!

Aubrey really enjoyed being a big girl. She loved the attention from all the girls, and loved to be included in whatever was going on. We made necklaces from flowers and leaves we found outside.

I think we filled up more than 350 water balloons for a water balloon fight.

Throwing the balloons. Ada had the most fun throwing them straight to the ground and watching them explode.

The older girls went for a swim in the river. Brrr.....

We finished the trip on Tuesday evening with a dutch oven chicken and potato dinner. It was delicious.

It was a fun but very exhausting few days. With the girls going to bed at 10 and waking up at 6:30; me staying up until past 1 am, and the beehive girls never going to sleep, we were all happy to be heading home. We got home around 7 and I put my girls straight to bed.

Wednesday morning we got out our pool and these three little friends always have a blast when they are together. Taylor, Aubrey, and Ada.
