Penny Ski Date

5th Graders get a free ski pass for the season to the local resorts, and it was Penny's turn. We have a tradition of taking our 5th grader on a solo ski trip with either Mom or Dad. I got to take Penny this year. We had such a beautiful day, had the resort to ourselves, and had so much fun. 

Skipping school is so fun!

And all the kids are becoming such good skiers. She loved cruising through the trees and was going so fast!

Frozen Hauser

Love when Hauser freezes over. It was like smooth glass this year and so fun to skate on. 

Such a beautiful day. 

We could hear the ice cracking and freezing. Always a bit unnerving but I think it means the ice is good. Watched a family catch fish after fish while they were ice fishing. Beautiful winter afternoon.

We brought the metal detector to Ben's house when we joined for a bonfire one afternoon and found the lost septic tank!

It was quite exciting and the biggest find we have had with Penny's birthday gift.
