Sixmile Peak

We made it up to Sixmile Peak on Saturday before we had to head home on Sunday. I didn't really think we would make it the whole way. We brought some bags to pick huckleberries, but when we got to our normal picking spot, there really weren't many berries so we just kept plugging along. 

The girls did amazing. We had little to no complaining. Paige was kept entertained by me picking huckleberries and handing them to her one by one.

Paige maybe slept 40 minutes of the hike. But she was happy most of the way. 

What a fun and memorable day! 9 miles round trip. The girls picked enough berries to come home and make huckleberry pancakes and Cameron and I were able to sneak out on a date. 

One year ago we made it to the top  on Mt. Aenaes!

Ada's 7th Birthday

We celebrated Ada's birthday all weekend! Her birthday was on the Sunday we drove home. We made her cake on Friday. She wanted to decorate it. It was hard for me to step back and let her take control. I am actually pretty impressed with how good it looks!

Cute cake! I am glad I took some pictures before I set it on the table and Paige started picking frosting off it. 

We went on a walk and to Sliter Park before Grandma and Grandpa came home. Then ate Burger Town by the lake and came home and opened presents and ate cake and ice cream. 

She loved her presents and was pretty spoiled!

She's officially 7! And excited to start 2nd Grade!

August Montana Trip

And we made an end of August Montana trip for a week. We drove up on Friday and stayed until the following Sunday. We did our longest stay at the cabin to date, Monday to Thursday. Monday was rainy and cold. We accidentally locked ourselves out of the cabin so had to leave for a little bit to meet up with mom and dad.

We went on walks and kayaked and swam. We got some beautiful (yet smoky) days after the first day.

We went to Wayfarers one evening to swim and jump off the rocks. Aubrey and Ada jumped off the rocks this year!

Brave girls!

We went back one evening at the end of our trip and it was windy and pretty cold. But that didn't stop Ada and Penny from swimming!

We also signed up and ran the Lakeside 5k. Aubrey, Ada, and Penny ran the whole thing. They are pretty amazing.
