No More Braces for Aubrey

No more braces!! She has dealt with stuff in her mouth since she had to get a tooth pulled when she was 8. She is so excited to be brace free!!

She made it on the poster advertising a contest! Unfortunately we didn't win. She's famous though!

Beautiful Smile!

Paige's Broken Arm

We put everyone to bed after a full day of celebrating Ada's birthday. All the girls were wound up and crazy on sugar. After they were in bed a few minutes, we could still hear the girls acting up. Paige was leaning over the top bunk talking to Penny and fell off. We heard screaming and Cameron went running. I followed slowly behind figuring it was just the usual bonk. We got Paige calmed down and looked over but she looked okay. But then she threw up and Cameron looked her over once again and realized her arm was broken. We went from one crying girls to four screaming girls. We turned on a show for the older three while we figured out what to do with Paige and where to take the other girls.

Thankfully, Cameron was able to get ahold of the hand surgeon he works with quite often and he said if we could make it through the night he would get her fixed up in the morning. The idea of dealing with a kid with a broken arm all night was overwhelming, but we gave her some Tylenol and we all tried to settle in.

Everyone was exhausted. Thankfully Paige fell asleep fairly quickly. She woke up once around 2am to use the bathroom and whined a bit, but quickly went back to sleep. We all slept in til 8 or so. Linda Lee was so sweet and came and picked up all the girls so Cameron and I could go with Paige before Cameron had to head to work.

The girls went to a bible camp this summer and got these buff. They learned how to use it as a sling. They were excited to put it to use!

Paige being a great sport.

Getting the cute pink cast on!

Whew all done! Ready for everyone to start signing it!

I tried buying her a treat afterwards and all she wanted was water. I think her body was still having a hard time processing it all.

Mom and Dad signed first! Then sisters and Dalton cousins! 4 weeks with the cast on. Hopefully we survive!

Ada's 10th Birthday

Happy 10th Birthday Ada!!!! We spent multiple days partying!

I let each of the girls have a birthday party this year. It is always a bit overwhelming, but kids love having birthday parties, and my girls equally like going to birthday parties. So we did it!

And its always so fun for me to get to know the girls friends better. Between church, soccer, and school friends, plus sisters, the numbers add up pretty quickly!

We started the party by jumping on the tramp and playing some yard games. Then pizza and lemonade. Then the Saran Wrap ball game. We had made a huge Saran Wrap ball. The game was a hit. And it was actually pretty hard for them to unwrap. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone hosting a party for ages 8+.

One person tries to roll doubles on the dice while the other person tries to unwrap the ball and get candy. And around the circle it goes.

We started the game with gloves on....

But it was nearly impossible that way. So the gloves got ditched fairly quickly.

So much excitement!

Popcorn cake!

Cutest 10 Year Old!

And presents! We also played Crapple, did a scavenger hunt, and of course presents.

We started Ada's actual birthday with presents. Cameron was able to get the day off and spend the whole day with us.

Spoiled girl!

Gram Dalton always sends the cutest outfits.

Maple bars for breakfast.

Aubrey and Cameron had early morning orthodontist appointments, so they delivered breakfast!

We headed to CDA to play at the skate park, park, and beach. The day was a bit cold and windy, so we didn't stay at the beach as long as we would have liked.

Cute park girls

Paige has figured out the monkey bars

Skate park was a bit scary.... a bit advanced for our girls. But they felt pretty cool skating around.

And they looked pretty cool too.

We treated the girls to a carousel ride to continue the celebrations. Ada even got the gold ring and won an extra ride.

We went to 'dinner' at Elmers....a place we just googled online. The kids loved it....we aren't sure if we will go back though. But anywhere the kids will is a win in our books.

Smiling bear pancakes!

And a free birthday treat

We definitely overdid the treats on Ada's birthday. Seems like we hit sugar in every form. Ada made her cake completely on her own!

Turned out pretty fancy!

Can't believe she is 10!

What a great day and a perfect celebration for our girl.

Summer Montana Trip

Our annual week in Montana! We love every minute of it! We spent our days swimming, hiking, floating the river, boating, jumping off rocks and eating!

Fire ban still going on....so s'mores on the grill.

And a JoJos ad. Figure they might have a contest that I can win someday while sharing our JoJos s'mores and this view!

Silly girls in the boat

So incredibly lucky we have this place to escape to.

Love these girls. And cabin trips keep getting easier as they get older. Less stress and more fun for me.

Silly mom headed out on my swim.

Looking pretty cute in the wetsuits!

More silly laughing girls. I think I have a video of whatever is going on in this picture.

Culvert walking

Makes for a good photo op.

We brought our bikes! We got a few good rides in. And Aubrey, Ada, Penny and I biked from the top of Crane Mountain into Ferndale. It was a bit more technical of a downhill than we anticipated. But they did it! And then Ada, Aubrey and I biked into Bigfork.

Not shown in these beautiful pictures.....us getting eaten alive by mosquitos. Mom losing her flip flop in mud hole. And Paige screaming cause she fell and scratched herself on a stick.

Not sure why we took this picture....Ada looking cute by the cabin

Floating the river!

Here we go! The girls love collecting rocks. And spotting frogs. There were a lot of frogs this year. And seeing if anyone can spot a fish. Half of us spotted a huge one!

One of the frogs!

Freezing cold swim

I fished more than I ever have at the cabin I think. There was a pole sitting in the cabin so I'd bring it along and cast here and there. All the girls wanted to catch a fish too. I was on the dock casting the line in a few times and I caught a pike. As I reeled in a yelled for everyone to come see. All the girls thought it was scary and no longer wanted to try and catch a fish the rest of the trip.

Freeze dried ice cream bars!

Hunting for frogs.

Astles left a jiffy pop and the cabin and the girls were so excited to try it out.

It worked perfectly!

Can't ask for a better view. We played lots of Hearts games in the evening, read our scriptures and Hatchet, and went to bed way too late each night and slept in probably too late each morning.

Penny driving. Everyone got a turn at one point.

And we hiked to Mt. Aenaes! And Paige earned her shirt and got to join the OTH club.

She hiked the whole way with the help of her butterfly friend that she kept spotting.

Always a fun hike.

Shirt earned! She was so excited.

Signing the club paper while wearing her shirt.

Cute kids signatures! Only a few cousins left to make the trek!

We headed to jump off the rocks in Wayfarers to finish out the evening.

And went back with my parents a few days later.

Flathead Lake Family Swim!

We were able to join my parents for church at their ward before heading home. It was fun to see them teach the lesson as Sunday School Teachers.

And we made a visit to see Ashley and Brooke. It was so fun to catch up and see them again. Brooke was so mad that Paige wouldn't talk to her.

Brooke showing the girls the sauna. We swam and chatted, tried out their zip line, and played a little basketball too!

Looking at some old photos with Grandma

Puzzle time with papa.

And my parents always give the kids $5 to spend in St. Regis on the way home. Aubrey was pleased with her choice!

Watching the fish and showing their treasures.

I'm sure we did so much more on this trip! It is always such a good family getaway.
